Rectory Lane, Buckland – Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.1) 2019

SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL PROPOSE TO MAKE the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Rectory Lane (D317), Buckland that is crossed by the railway line and for a distance of 5m either side; as Rectory Lane is a cul-de-sac there is no diversion route available. The Order is required to enable a) Frutronics to install cameras on behalf of Network Rail; and b) for maintenance works, including line painting to be carried out at the level crossing. These works are anticipated to be carried out in 2 phases within the 6 month period of operation of the Temporary Order which commences on 18 March 2019. For part a) works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 9.30am and 5pm, within 8 days commencing on 18 March 2019; and for part b) works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 11pm and 6am, within 1 night commencing on 09 April 2019. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and advanced notification to affected properties will be given, the temporary closures will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. There is no diversion route possible however access for pedestrians, cyclists, equestrians, emergency services, residents and businesses will be maintained under the direction of a banksmen. Under Section 3 of The Act the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any period of 24 hours.
